The system is atop CES’s corporate headquarters in Longwood, Florida. This advanced system design is the first of its kind in the area. In the initial phases of the project it was clear that a non-roof penetrating ballasted system was desirable as the existing roofing material is a TPO membrane. Ballasted systems require no penetrations into the roof. This extraordinary system meets wind load requirements without putting any roof attachments into the existing structure of the building. A ballasted system utilizes the evenly displaced weight of the system to fix it to the roof.
Additionally, high quality components were used throughout the project to maximize energy yield throughout the system life. From the high output SolarWorld modules to the field-proven SMA inverters, best in class equipment was critical to the overall performance of this system.
