On April 7, CES employees walked in the IOA Corporate 5K to raise funds to benefit the Track Shack Foundation, which is an organization that promotes health and fitness by funding youth athletics and sports programs through a grant application process. The event also collected food for the Christian Service Center and Second Harvest Food Bank. Insurance Office of America has supported the event since the first Corporate 5k in 1995. The event and IOA have successfully made health and wellness a priority in corporate culture.
Christian Service Center and Second Harvest Food Bank are asking each team to take part in the 100 Meal Team Challenge to provide 20,000 meals to our neighbors in need. If only 50 out of 790 teams participates, then together, we can fight hunger and feed hope in Central Florida by providing 5,000 meals for our neighbors in need! Either 150 pounds of food or $25 provides 100 meals.
The CES team had loads of fun celebrating with co-workers at the walk where 700 companies gathered in the heart of the city celebrating running, walking, camaraderie at work and community caring. It’s thrilling to see the corporate community respond by contributing 24,000+ meals to Second Harvest Food Bank and the Christian Service Center.
